Sarah Graham Investigations into Urbanism and Architecture-clip_1285

Subclip

Graham discusses her Department of Energy proposal to utilize architectural devices for the generation of energy through photovoltaics. She sought to utilize South-facing structures in order to capitalize on the sun’s energy. She then discussed her project below the “D” of the Hollywood Sign, which sought to experiment with architecture’s dependence upon tectonics of its own production. Ultimately this design was about structure, light and space, rather than forms and surfaces.
