Thom Mayne makes a general introduction, followed by Fr?d?ric Migayrou’s introduction to the architectural culture of France in the 1960s, focusing on Andre Bloc, Paul Virilio, Jean Nouvel and Claude Parent. Migayrou describes in detail projects developed by Parent in collaboration with Virilio and with Bloc. Claude Parent lectures in French, his words are translated into English by an interpreter. Parent illustrates his ideas by drawing over a paper taped to the wall. Parent stresses the importance of movement, continuity and instability in architecture.
