Frank Dimster presents a series of projects by other architects that, to him, manage to narrow the gap between intention and result while creating a harmony between the environment and man-made elements. Through these references, he discusses his interest in both individual and urban designs, the coexistence of artificial and natural and the balance between function and aesthetics. Dimster goes on to reflect on the architectural profession, social issues, values and contradictions which architects are faced with on a day-to-day basis and how the profession should demonstrate a social conscience.
