Diamond concludes with a detailed discussion of aircraft control tower at Los Angeles International Airport. She goes in depth both about the design of the project itself as well as the political issues associated with its construction. The design is based on a reading of the FAA regulations and aesthetic references to aeronautical engineering. Diamond was ultimately able to fend off attempts to modify her design through both lobbying and the integral nature of all elements to the function of the tower.
