Introduction by:

Hernan Diaz Alonso, Graduate Programs Chair at SCI-Arc, and the principal and founder of Xefirotarch, surveys a range of issues that define his approach to design. He describes his work as a continuum of ideas that touch on a themes including beauty, the grotesque, variation, incompleteness, imperfection, mutation, excess, decay, and ritual. The work presented illustrates these themes in an architectural language, which Wolf Prix once praised for its “mercurial chewing gum quality.”
